Friday 17 June – Sunday 19 June
Just before the summer solstice STUDIO would like to invite you to an interdisciplinary programme devoted to the works based on new technologies (virtual reality, artificial intelligence) and experimental electronic music. The common denominator of the events is the expansion of the field of perception and reception, as well ass the invitation to reflect on the coexistence and relationships between us and the intelligent machine.
The programme features: the work of the eminent German theatre director Susanne Kennedy and multimedia artist Markus Selg, “I AM [VR]” in which they invite the audience to meet the Oracle; the work of French director Gaëlle Mourre “Mechanical Souls” which is an interactive, collective experience created bz virtual reality, an analytic engine and Studio Theatre actors; one of the more interesting German collectives, Interrobang constantly experimenting with form in “Deep Godot”, in which artificial intelligence offers individual advisory with regard to aging; “Dead City” by Krzysztof Grudziński – a narrative operatic experience with a pandemic city in the background, created as part of the multimedia Visual Narrative Lab of the Lodz Film School; as well as the film version of the performance “The Shadow Whose Prey the Hunter Becomes” by one of the strongest voices on the Australian theatre scene – Back to Back Theatre ensemble which in this play looks at unstable foundations of the modern society, challenging contemporary assumptions about artificial intelligence and human mind.
