Leszek Brogowski, Drawing Considerations D, 1981, ink on paper, 43 x 50 cm

Leszek Brogowski (b. 1955), philosopher, artist, university lecturer and author of texts on art. From 1978–81 he ran the GN Gallery in Gdansk. He initiated the publishing house słowo/obraz terytoria in Gdansk and Éditions Incertain Sens at the University of Rennes 2. In 2001, he published the book Afterimages and after… Unism and Władysław Strzemiński’s “Theory of Seeing.” The ink drawings found in the Galeria Studio Collection, comprising the series marked D, belong to an extensive series of works titled Drawing Considerations, which was created from the early 1980s. In 1982, works from the series were presented at Brogowski’s solo exhibition at the BWA Gallery in Lublin, and in 1985 at the ON Gallery in Poznań. Another set of works from the series is in the collection of the Museum of Art in Łódź.
